What is Mutual Fund Returns?
Mutual Fund Returns Calculator helps you measure the performance of your mutual fund investments. There are multiple ways to measure returns — absolute return (total gain), CAGR (annualized return), and XIRR (for SIP investments with multiple cash flows).
Understanding these metrics is crucial for comparing different funds. A fund with 100% absolute return sounds great, but if it took 10 years, the CAGR is only 7.2% — worse than a simple FD.
Formula
Absolute Return = ((Current Value − Invested Amount) / Invested Amount) × 100
CAGR = ((Current Value / Invested Amount)^(1/years) − 1) × 100
For ₹5,00,000 invested, now worth ₹7,50,000 after 3 years: - Absolute Return = 50% - CAGR = (1.5^(1/3) − 1) × 100 = 14.47%
