What is Pregnancy?

The Pregnancy Due Date Calculator estimates when your baby will be born based on the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). Most pregnancies last about 280 days (40 weeks) from the LMP.

Note that the due date is an estimate — only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most babies arrive within 2 weeks before or after.

Naegele's Rule (traditional method): Due Date = LMP + 1 year − 3 months + 7 days

How accurate is the due date?

The estimated due date has a margin of ±2 weeks. Only about 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Ultrasound dating in the first trimester is more accurate.

What is LMP?

LMP (Last Menstrual Period) is the first day of your most recent period before pregnancy. It's used because most women don't know the exact date of conception.

How are pregnancy weeks counted?

Pregnancy weeks are counted from the first day of LMP, not from conception. So 'Week 4' is actually about 2 weeks after conception.
